Out of the Jungle

We made it! 2 weeks in the jungle was nothing! Bring on the Sahara Desert! I could recap all we did, but does anyone really care? You do? Well, too bad, I am too lazy to tell you everything. The boat ride was very nice, 30 hours, but nice. We saw some pink dolphins, actually quite a few throughout the 2 weeks. It wasn't quite what any of us expected out there. I thought we'd have to machete our way through the jungle for a a few hours and find a few huts along the way. All the villages are scattered along the river so we never really ventured too far into the actual jungle. For the first week we got up at 5 to leave for a nearby village where we built a church in the river, literally. The river was flooded so all the houses have to be built 5 feet off the ground. We were standing in 3 feet of water for the first day, and then getting the wood from the river bed.

The river is quite dirt actually, you will see in the pictures that it is very brown. They throw all their waste and human excrement in there. We also bathed in the river, so it was nice to think about.

Man, I have no idea what to say. We were eaten alive by the bugs. You should see some of the pictures, you will gag. Ugh, just thinking about it. You'll see. I´m really distracted right now...no reason why, there is nothing to do and no one around. I guess I just don't feel like doing this. Maybe tomorrow when I get some cool pictures on here I will be reminded of some cool stories and tell you about them.

Cheers
