Today, Monday, marks the start of Easter week, and to kick it off, the town got together to do what they have been doing for an amount of time that is longer than the United States is old. They dressed up in white and black hooded robes (a’la Klu Klux Klan) and carried torches, crosses, skulls, and a giant plaster statue of Jesus and Mary on a long procession through town. Hundreds of people were involved and that doesn’t even include the multitude of people watching. There was even a marching band that follows behind the procession. Luckily the procession passes right below my window so I got a good view of it.
