So yesterday started out awful...and then kept going. so first i overdosed on these natural mint pills for your stomach and i woke up so sick that I had to make myself throw up to get it out of my system. yes it was a wonderful morning...but luckily my friends here are amazing and helped me get through it. We took a bus that left at like 8pm from Oaxaca going to San Cristobal...12 hours...easy enough. but no, not easy at all. We had one stop along the way which was at like 1 in the morning in some little town and it was pouring. We were hungry so I was like, well I’ll brave the rain and get us some chips. so i jump out of the bus and run for cover, pick up our chips... go to pay... and there is no wallet in my pocket. oy not again! so I’m freaking out and have no idea what to do, so i jump back into the rain but have no idea where to look because the water is like a raging river and soooo deep. so Moe jumps off the bus and we´re running around this water with this Mexican guy from the rest area who was really helpful(of course no one else offers to help...makes me miss Israelis)trying everything to find my wallet...which is of course impossible to find. I am in tears because how on earth can this be happening again? I have never lost my wallet before, but now twice in like two weeks?!?! and I have no way of getting another debit card and I will be on my own in like a week. I’ll get through it though... so Moe and I have to finally give up the search and get back on the freezing cold bus soaking wet. I am soaked so completely that i have to take off my pants and we´re like huddled together under this small blanket that i have and we´re freezing cold and it was awful. A few hours later we arrived in Tuxtla so we were able to grab some warm clothes and our sleeping bags which was nice because everyone got off the bus so we were able to lay across the seats and be warm for the last three hours. Once we finally arrived in San Cristobal we went outside to call the bus stop (i had asked for their number...)which of course with my luck didn´t work. so we asked the bus station for help and of course they were useless. oy. so I am stuck spending the morning calling the credit card company, etc. on no sleep...and of course i go crazy because i am upset and tired and this jerk at wells fargo told me that they wouldn´t help me in Mexico. grrr.
On the plus side I am in love with San Cristobal, it is such a cool town with so many cool crafts, it reminds me a bit of Tepoztlan...
