10th

Went to see the thermal springs and geysers in Te Puia. They were amazing with boiling mud and steam. We spent most of the morning there and then headed onto Waitoma which has the 4th largest waterfall in NZ, it was very pretty. We also saw a huge naturally formed lymestone bridge. That evening we stayed in some quite nice little rooms in the middle of nowhere and played a huge drinking game of kings cup/ring of fire where everyone got fairly drunk.

11th

woke up with a killer headache but had to get packed and ready pretty quickly because we were all going blackwater rafting, yer thats right BLACKwater. This consists of alot of huge caves a rubber ring and a very unattractive wetsuit. You basically crawl jump and swim your way through these gigantic caves full of glowworms (the same ones you might have seen on "life in the undergrowth with david attenbourough") they catch their pray with silk threads. The whole experience was stunning and definately the best hangover cure yet as the water was COLD!

After the blackwater rafting we headed onto Taupo. And the Urban retreat hostel. Here is one of the best places to do skydiving in NZ over the lake Taupo which can fit the whole of sigapore in it and is deeper than mount everest, pretty cool eh. That night we all went to a pub quiz at the local Irish bar. I cant beleive Irish bars are EVERYWHERE! anyway we where all doing the pub quiz and not doing to badly when i went to get and drink and guess who i met at the bar. Ed, Rich and Blake just doing the quiz aswell i couldnt beleive it i nearly had a heart attack. So that night we all had a big reuion and i stayed at there hostel. Was a really great night.

12th

We didnt get in until about 4 so i didnt get up till lunchtime. We had a free day in Taupo because the skydiving was cancelled due to bad weather so i was gald i could lie in. I arrnaged to meet the guys again that night for one last drink before saying goodbye. Didnt really do much that day apart from going to the cinema to see Ice age 2. Didnt think it was as good as ice age 1 though. That night we played pool and just chilled out was really nice. I couldnt sleep really because the next day was my last chance to do the skydive and no one was sure about the weather.
