Some days are just too long...

Thursdays are always long days, but this Thursday was particularly long. I had to present in my French class in the morning. It was awful. There were 2 groups who went before me and as they were talking all I could think was how ridiculous and simplistic mine was going to be. The teacher had a bit of mercy on me and acted as my partner. In the end, he did most of the teaching. I felt like such an idiot. Kersty was kind and told me I did a good job afterwards. I think she could tell how worked up I was. I am certainly fortunate that there are so many kind people here. The other good thing was my presentation was done right before it was time for the break. So I was able to gather my composure away from people just a little. The second half of class was crazy. We watched news clips (well mock news clips anyway), the teacher explained the French system of government, and we also saw some music videos. It was fun.

Lunch time meant steak and fries (of course) and some coffee-flavored cake for dessert. It was good. After that, it was time for Art History. I would just like to say it drives me nuts when people obsess about finals a good month and a half before they are going to happen. I mean, some curiosity is natural, but to demand a ton of specifics at this point is just ridiculous! As were some of the questions asked about the paper. Oh well, it’s over now.

Once that class was done, it was time for French Civ. That was pretty interesting. We continued talking about religion and heard presentations on the Muslims and Jewish communities in France. The class was rather long though. Perhaps just because it had already been such a long day. When I got back from class, Rachael was napping (she hadn’t been feeling too well). So, I read quietly and did some Sudoku while she slept.

Eventually, after Rach woke up, we both went to the Cyberdrome for a bit. Then I did some homework. Not all of it was successful, there were a couple of problems that I swear don’t work out like we are supposed to do them. My comfort is that Amanda was struggling too. That was about it for the day. Just lots and lots of class...
