Did someone say “free wireless?!”

It was another mostly normal morning in Cannes. After breakfast I had French class. Though, because my prof had had a death in the family, we were now going to have a sub for the rest of the week and maybe all of the following week as well. Our sub is kind of crazy. He is young and super hyper! That made for an uber-intense, but also very funny day of class. I’m definitely struggling in it though. There are times where I have only a very vague idea of what it is he wants us to be doing. If I survive this sub, I think my French comprehension at least is going to be spectacular.

Lunch was very good, spaghetti and yogurt for dessert. What made the yogurt cool was it wasn’t flavored, but they gave us sugar and honey to add to it. I have decided that honey-flavored yogurt is an excellent thing! Afterwards, I headed back to the room where I read and napped just a wee bit. Then it was more journaling on the computer. And then time for trying out the free wireless by the Hotel de Ville.

It was a great time. Rachael showed me how to adjust my AIM so that I could get on from there and I was able to talk with Ashley!! It was soo much fun. I miss that girl! I also did some copying and pasting of my journal and checking of the e-mail.

When I came back to the room, I worked some more on my homework while Rach went to play volleyball. She came back around 7ish and informed me that the power was out all over the city. And so it was. That meant that we were going to have to wait just a bit longer before we could safely go down to the foyer and get paninis. But it was well worth the wait. I was definitely hungry by the time we went down there. I was also freaking out a bit over my homework for the next day. Everyone had been partnered up and assigned a grammar topic to present on, easy enough, but unfortunately for me, my partner was leaving town early for Easter, so I was working on it solo. This class really may be the death of me…

The day did have a good ending though. Later on, Amanda and Kate E came over, and we all sat down and watched the first episode of LOST. My mom brought me season 1 and it’s my goal to get a new group of people addicted. Perhaps a little vengeance for my now being slightly addicted to Alias as well. We’ll see if they like it in the end. After that there was nothing left to do, but go to bed.
