If there was a party destination in Vietnam, it would have to be Na Trang.
Consisting of a beautiful strip of developed beach front and heaps of cool little resturants and bars- it's a an alcoholic beach bums dream!
We arrived in Na Trang early afternoon to Eric waiting at the hotel he had reccomeded for us- we got a chep rate cause he was friends with owners! It was one of the more high-class places we stayed! The beds were amazing!
Shortly thereafter we all went out for coffe and then Tara and I decided to walk the beach and get ourselves aquainted with the area. The beach was much more crowded then in MuiNe- even in the evening. There were tons of Vietnamese, tourists, couples, singles, families, etc.
The kids on the beach were hilrious- I've come to the conculsion that no matter where you are in the world, kids are the same. They were doing all the same sort of things we (Meg, Matt and Mar) used to do when mom took us to the Merb- piggy-backing in the water, turfing sand at one another, diving in the waves, etc. Half of them weren't wearing a stitch of clothing, but it was all good!
We returned and went out for dinner with Eric and Ngoc at a local place and he took the liberity of ording a bunch of different dishes which we all shared- the Vietnamese way! It was delicious! I am really expanding my diet and trying all sorts of neat things- particularly seafood! My chopstick skills (originally embarssingly bad) have improved substantially as well! We all truned in early that night so we could get up early to make our boat tour of some of the islands in the morning.
The next morning we met Eric and Ngoc and garbbed our bus dwon to the warf. We had convinced them to join us- which we were a bit unsure of since I was not convinced that either of them really enjoyed swimming or drinking very much- two of the tour's key activities.
