Wow its been ages since Ive written! Not having a computer available whenever I want is starting to get to me, and it will only be harder once the semester ends. Last week went by pretty fast. We didnt do a whole lot, but I do talk to my guest family more and more. They were gone this past weekend from Friday morning to Sunday night. They were down in Bavaria for an all inclusive spa weekend, I was so jealous! But I did get to go to Weimar on a class trip, that was pretty cool. It took about 3 hours by train to get there, so it wasnt bad. As soon as we got to the hostel, we threw our stuff down and went to Buchenwald, the concentration camp during the war. Since I had already seen Dachau, it wasnt that interesting, but I did learn a lot about the history. I was just glad we had nice weather for walking around. We stayed there for 3 hours, then went and saw a memorial commerating all the prisioners that had died at that camp, and got a spectacular view of the city, since it was on a mountain. We had to literally run to catch our bus back to the city, it was so funny seeing our teachers run! And we still ended up missing the bus haha. Later, we went out for a delicious Italian dinner, and then danced the night away at a club that had a 70s and 80s night. It was so fun because all the music was american and we knew all the songs. We went crazy to Born in the USA and The Countdown. We didnt stick out at all haha jk. The club was incredibly cheap too, since Weimar is a college town. On Saturday, we went and saw the famous Poet and Painter Goethes house. It was interesting, but not very pretty. Just your ordinary run of the mill 400 year old house. We had nice weather again so the Natalie, Lydia and I went for a nice lunch at a cafe, then later the boys came and destroyed the peace and quiet. Good thing they didnt stay long! We did a bit of shopping, and headed back around 5. So overall it was a good weekend. This week Ive got a project to work on for one of our classes, but it shouldnt be bad at all. Im definetly ready for the classes to be over, and get to the fun stuff: traveling, and i suppose, to see my family. Hope everything is well in the states!
