So after leaving the internet cafe on sunday night I caught the bus to standsted airport. It only took an hour so i arrived at like 12:20am. I found a nice low sign with an overhang and set up my makeshift bed underneath. I was pretty worried about sleeping in the airport at first, but then you realize everyone is sleeping all over the place just waiting for there 5 or 6 am flights as well! haha Around 4 am everyone started queing up. The flight to milan departed at 640am and arrived at about 940. Going through the airport was a breeze (this country doesnt seem to have customs haha) I cought the shuttle bus to central milan. I decided i still had absolutely no desire to look around and headed straight for Mennagio on Lake Como. The train took only 1hr20min and I quickly caught the ferry across the lake. THIS PLACE IS STUNNING!! honestly probably the most gorgeous place i have ever been. The sky was picture perfect bright blue, the mountains were snow-capped, the lake was clear, and the sun was hot and bright.... holy hell it was beautiful.
I checked into the hostel (great place to stay if ever interested in going to the como area). And just decided to chill and relax and try to adjust to the past 48 hours and the constant traveling. I met some pretty cool people there and over dinner they gave me tips on what to see in the other cities i am visiting.
The next day i woke up early and headed down to Mennagio's town center. I had a cappuccino with two girls I met at the hostel and then caught the 11am ferry across to Bellagio- which is the town at where the lake divides into the two 'fingers'. It was all so picture perfect. I had lunch at 'La Punta' restuarant and sat on the lake front eating spinach and artichoke filled crepes (delicious!). I then spent the next 5 hours wandering around, sitting on benches soaking up the sun, and eating gelato- the coconut is to DIE FOR...seriously i would kick you if you had some in your hand so that i could steal it from you!! I caught the ferry back to mennagio about 5pm and went back to Mennagio's town center and had a paninni for dinner. Went back to the hostel and read outside on the veranda. Then met simon and anna the couple in the room next to mine. Anna has been traveling europe for 6.5 months and Simon came and met up with her 2.5 months ago. How cool is that to be able to travel for so long. We decided we would head into venice together the next day.
I am going to learn italian now so that i can come back and live in Mennagio!...or in George Clooney's lake house hahah
