HI!! so yes, I haven`t written a journal for a while!! so much has happened!! Well, I guess I will start this with a brief overview of whats been happening since christmas. Christmas So, chritmas in Japan was sad coz I wasn`t with my family, but I did have alot of fun. We ended up (with help from our hairdresser) getting into this very cool club in Umeda. The DJ met us downstairs and lead us into this overtly Japnese club- there were people doing all these set dance routines on various levels eg, podium and stage, and there was one point where the entire floor got down on there knees in order to proppel themselves into the air!!@Only in Japan.
New Years This was a very interresting experince. I actually ended up spending the count down on the train between Kyoto and Osaka with Charles, and four other friends. However, we eventually met up with my friend in Kyoto a while later and then hit the Yasaka jinja (Shinto shrine). Well, I say 'hit' the shrine, what I actually mean is that we headed straight into a 2hr wait outside. It was packed!! when we got into the shrine I was welcomed by an asahi beer tent!! of ALL places to have a beer tent!! After we did the shrine thing, we headed for a nice irish pub.
January onwards Well, it was pretty cold, and I was struck ill for about a month, having to take about 17 tablets a day. I had everything: flu, cold, tonsilitis, bronchitis, anemia. I went to the doctors about 5 times!! Aside from that, I bought a shakuhachi ( a transverse bamboo flute).
Present so now we are here!! My friend from China has been teaching me how to swim. Its very interresting as he is teaching me using a very chinese way of thinking- it seems to be working as I have progressed quite fast. Ive recently finished my exams (YAY) and next week ITS MY BIRTHDAY. I will be on a study tour on some random island near shikoku, so I hope I will be able to enjoy myself. And then after that... Im off to Okinawa!!! Im SOOO excited about that: there will be a beach, and tropical weather!!! And as soon as I head back, im off to Hiroshima for a couple of days. I am having a great time here, but there are times when I have missed the great British sense of humour, my family and friends. So, if you have time, please send me an email- I`d love to hear from you. well, the weather is beautiful today. Ive been wondering around in a tshirt and skirt. Now im off to enjoy more sun!
