| | | Rainy days... | | | | | Well after Gregor and me were absolutely happy that we got our pics burnt on CD in Chiang Rai (Thailand) a couple of days ago no good news for today. we dropped the camera and somehow we don't know how to fix it. lets see... anyway we left chiang rai the day before yesterday by public bus to the border to laos from where we were taking the mekong express to luang prabang. actually the mekong express was more a race-boat with no space for tall guys we are. after six hours we couldn't sit anymore. we had to use helmets while taking our way with this kind of speedboat to luang prabang. but it was a beutiful landscape indeed! the day yesterday in luang prabang we were just hanging arround, relaxing and visiting some temples and the royal palace. therefore this city in the north of laos belongs to the world heritage as well. in the evening we went out for dinner with two dutch girls and an italian couple from firenze. though the italians were not able to speak too much in english it was funny night out. this morning we went then by bus for 7 hours to viang vieng which is south of luang prabang. unfortunatly it started raining and the roads were not in good condition so that some trucks in front of us get stucked. it was intersting to see how the locals got them out. compared to cambodia here in laos it is raining quite often once till twice a day that seems to be normal. finally late afternoon we were arriving and still had some time to visit one of the caves luang prabang is famous for. tomorrow we haved planned to go on once again on the river but this time with kayak-boats. there will be a small introduction lesson in the morning and then ...there we go. i think its gonna be a great outdoor event which will take us tomorrow further south to vientiane where we leave laos for the first time to bangkok. what will be next? stay tuned!
