Another big trip for the Sunday. We were off to see the Republic of Monaco and then visit a medieval village called Eze. It was an earlier morning because we had a longish bus ride ahead of us.
The first thing we visited in Monaco was the palace, I think we saw a changing of the gaurd, but I'm not exactly sure. Afterwards, a group of us girls wandered around looking at shops and whatnot. Eventually we made our way to these beautiful gardens to eat our sack lunches. The gardens really were gorgeous, and they looked right out over the ocean, soooo pretty!
After lunch we went in search of some bathrooms, whose toilets didn't have any seat, it was odd, particularly considering how clean the city was. Because the city was immaculent!! We got to visit the Oceanographie museum around that time. Its in a really cool old building that has like waves and other water images carved into the stone on the outside. Inside there was a really cool aquarium and some exhibits, that we didn't really look at. Instead, we made our way back to the state cathedral, which had been closed to the public earlier due to mass. It was amazing inside! We saw the grave of princess Grace. Very beautiful.
Then it was back to the bus so we could visit the Monte Carlo. That site wasn't so great. I mean the building was amazing on the outside, but we could only go into the foyer without paying 15€ entry fee. So mostly we just wandered for an hour.
We left Monaco and went to Eze. Oh my goodness Eze!!! We had to climb like a million stairs to get to the top, but it was soooo worth it!!! It was an amazing view in this like cactus garden. Throughout the garden there were these statues of women with these neat poems written by them. The town was absolutely picturesque! One of my favorite sites thus far!! Once I finally figure out how to get my pictures uploaded you can all have a taste of it!
