Well, left Bangkok with more than a tear in the eye on December 18th. (Had to spend 500 baht on a phone card to call my bank cos they had put a block on my credit card!)Went mad in duty free with aforementioned card and took off at midnight.
arriving in London on December 19 at 6am has to be one of the most depressing feelings either of us had experiences in ages.
it was cold, dark and everyone was speaking English. got overwhelmed with all the English tv, mags, books, food etc and started crying.
had to pay 50euro to leave our luggage in airport overnight which brought on another set of teardrops. Considered changing our flights and going straight home but this would have cost us a fortune so decided to just get on with it.

wandered around london for the day. had to stop to buy socks in picadilly circus cos the sandals just werent doing it for me. kieran had to do similar for his exposed head.
thankfully, met up with maria and she took us in for the night where we just chatted and drank wine and avoided the big bad world.

Tuesday saw us up andr eady to go home. much better feeling as the initial shock of being back in the western world after 3 years had worn off.

Flew into Dublin at 7pm and were met by my sis Jenny, her boyf Rob and my mate Yvonne. More tears.
A long night of boozing with mates ensued (five euro a pint!!) and curry chips were consumed at an early hour.

Wednesday took us down to tramore to kierans family. More tears and hysteria. A few pints and bottles of wine later the camera was out. Had to listen to Rosies violin recital...ahem. Very good!!#

thursday took me back up to dublin and then onto another bus home to portumna.
yes, tears and yelps and champagne appeared and a night of gin and tonics int he local followed.

Christmas day was a very happy drunken affair and we dont really remember much about it.
The food was hard to take at first but believe me we got the knack after 2 days.

Spent a month in ireland then just arsing around. I was at homoe with my parents or up in dublin with my friends and kieran did the same.
Eventually got Korea sorted and legged it back out East on January 31st.

Never had such a good time in Ireland and i'd now recommend it as a holiday destination. (bring lots of cash though).
It's nice to be a tourist at home.
