Hey everyone!

Thanx for leaving comments; keeps me up with your news as well!!!

The situation with my first host family is pretty uncertain at the moment, which most people would gawk at, but considering the circumstances, I really dont mind. It goes like this; I was supposed to saty with a Mrs. Brigitte Foure for my first three-four months of my stay in France, whiwh would of been great for me as she speaks NO english & it would force me to speak french fast & well!!!!!! As it turned out the first week I arrived, shed gone to visit her daughter whos studying in Belgium, as shed become sick. So I stayed with my counsellor, Jean-Pierre & his lovely wife, Arlette. Then, I was supposed to move into Brigittes house once shed come back from Belgium, but she fell ill as well! This was alot more serious though, as three years ago, she was in a bad car accident where she was paralized from the waist down for 6 months!!!!!!!!!! Since then shes been fine, but just this last week shes been starting to get really bad headaches, which are linked to the head injury she had three years ago! So she went to the doctor to get a head x-ray, which came back with bad results! Arrrrrggghhh! The doctors even suggested a possibility of death!!! So...Im definitley not going to Brigittes house anymore. To make matters worse, Jean-Pierres sister in law is on her death bed as well, 1 he & Arlette must go to her house in another part of France to organise her wake, etc.. Therefore, for the time being, Im staying with my third host family for this weekend, then with Sarah's host family, the Bele's, for the next week, until a family can be worked out for me. I could be just staying at various Rotarians houses for the first three months, but at least I know my second & third host families!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a happier note, i made some friends! YAY! They're in my class & they actually talk to me now! One even drew me a really cute kangaroo, & they're always asking If i have a kangaroo in my backyard! LOL! Maths, Geography, History, Physics & Science are all really boring for Sarah & I, as the teachers can't really speak any English, (i wasnt expecting them to!), but we're not really supposed totalk or draw all the time in class as it is rude or dissrupts the other students!! Phhhppp! My friends, in my class, (yes, thats right; I have FRIENDS), say to just ignore the teachers, but Im still a teachers-pet, even when I cant understand a word they're saying! Art & French are my favourite subjects at the moment, as the teachers are really, really nice & they speak slowly for me!!!!! They also use lots of hand signals; hehehehehe. School is way, way, way tooo long; 8am-5pm is soo tiring. But Sarah & I get lots of subjects off, (Spanish, Latin, Greek, Italian & German), so yesterday we went to a really cute bakery for lunch & had chocolate croissants!!! MMmmmmm. We can also go on the computers n talk to all you guys!!!!!!

TODAY IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so happy! It started in the morning & didnt stop until about 3pm; everything was very white, like a xmas postcard. i went for a gorgeous walk with my host family at the moment, the Lecaux's, who are also hosting an american friend; Anne, 20; shes really, really nice!

I better go now; I think dinner is ready & theres visitors downstairs. I promise to post phots on here as soon as i can!

Au revoir for now,

Elissa xxxxxxx

Next entry: Finally; I got a host family!
