Saddles and arses and arses and saddles. I've tried about 4 different saddles this week in an attempt to find something that will be comfortable to sit on for 6 hours a day.
No mean feat.
I've settled on a blue BelAir thingy for the moment. Another trip down south
through the Royal National Park (near Sutherland in Sydney) should determine how long it takes my arse to complain about this one...
Bloody dry and windy here in Sydney at the moment. Was out flying at Bankstown
this afternoon, supposedly to do my solo check, but in the end it turned out to be a case of survival - 25 knot gusty winds all over the place.

A Day For Testing
Since we're leaving in a short six weeks, we thought it might be a nice idea to do a
little equipment and fitness testing yesterday. With bikes loaded up (in Ilias' case with Yellow Pages in his Ortlieb panniers), we headed for the Royal National Park.
Some nice big hills that kicked Ilias' arse.
Some interesting testing of saddles - I had just purchased a new San Marco Aero
thingy with a kag cutout, thinking that it would be more comfortable than my almost broken in Brooks leather torture chamber, but I was sadly mistaken. The kag air conditioner started to really hurt my arse after about 25kms. so I put the old Brooks back on.... ahhhhhh.
After about 50kms of going uphill, Ilias was totally shagged and desperate for a
Coke, but to his despair the train at Waterfall station was waiting to pull out...
Caught the train back to Sydenham station then rode to Laddas Thai cafe in
Newtown for a suitable ending to our Thai fantasising - Vege Pad Thai, Bean Curd with Chilli and Basil and... a Coke.
