I had a wonderful opportunity to spend the days before the holidays in New york this year. It was my first time in New York City and I had a great time. I was lucky to be staying with Andrew who knew the city better than I did and also lucky to be able to stay at his father's right in the middle of Manhattan.
With the New York City pass we were allowed entry into most of the major museums (MOMA, Natural History, Guggenheim), the Empire state building and the circle line tours harbour cruise. We got up early friday morning to join the rally of people wishing Howard Stern goodbye to radio and hello to Sirius. The food was great, we ate yummy bagals nearly every morning and Andrew was doing his best to get his daily dose of NY pizza. We had some troubles meeting up with a few people due to communication troubles and the transit strike but spent some nice evenings with Andrews family. Thank-you to monica and dan for everything they did for us. We did our best to see most of the sites of manhattan. By the end of my stay the transit workers went on strike but we were the lucky ones staying so close to everything and we had no troubles getting on the ice at the Rockafeller centre after only a couple minutes in line.
What a great city! I hope to get back again soon!
