Cenote, beach and Maya ruins

2006-01-05, Tulum, Mexico

A real & really good day! Went to the beach early this morning by bicycle and visited the Maya ruins of Tulum! Very beautiful and interesting to see and read about this great historic culture that existed many centuries ago.

Later on we (Victor, Kjara & I) went for snorkeling in a Cenote which is a underwater cave in the middle of the jungle. The Mayas believed that the waterspirits resided in those caves and held rituals to please them. Now we´re back at the Weary Traveler for another barbeque. Gonna head south or west tomorrow... i´m not sure yet.

Speak to ya later!
