Beach Road Beach Life

2005-12-09, Benaulim, India

Life in Benaulim continues at a regular pace. Often in the morning we walk to the village and have breakfast in a "Breakfast Garden". We usually have fruit (fresh) salad with curd and coconut. Then depending on the time we will either head for the beach or browse in the various shops along the road. The road is the Beach Road and is one of two roads that connect the village to the beach. The beach road is around a third of a mile long. The beach road is really an extension of the village and there is alot of activity each morning. Moving cattle to grazing areas, planting rice, fisherman going home from a night of fishing. We by now know most of the vendors and so greet them as they walk down the road to their beach shacks. Aside from beach time we visited a very large market about a 2 hour drive from here. Took the whole day, we bought some stuff most of which we could have bought on the beach road but it was a fun day.

Hard as it is to believe (for us anyway) is that we have less than a month left here.
