My Random Urubamban Commentary:
The most popular stores are barbershops and movie rental/sale places...on each block, you can find probably 7 of each, if not more, no exaggeration. And Urubamba isnīt the most busy or fashionable place, so I donīt understand who frequents these places. Clearly, no one, because they are always empty. But walking here, it just struck me as really strange HOW MANY there were.
My family has hired a new empleada, and she is super sweet. We hung out for a bit today...she is 17 and her whole family used to work in the tourist industry at Macchu Picchu until her dad died in a train accident. Really sad story. Then she told me how she wants to move to the US because there is no work in Peru. We had fun, washing my pants and then washing the windows of the house. I am happy they hired someone, and she is really cool so now I have a new frienddd!! =)
