'08 Few Days in Munich - Day 3 - Berchtesgaden

Windy and cloudy morning but no rain, it's good. This day plans - trip to Berchtesgaden. Let's get in train and go. Little delay after which we need wait nearly hour in Freilassig for next train to Berchtesgaden. Berchtesgaden performance and a lonely night

Today we left Munich, traveling southeast, for a day trip and performance at Berchtesgaden, a picturesque mountainous area near the border with Austria. During World War 2 this was reputed to be a 100% Nazified town near the Obersalzburg, where Hitler had his notorious Eagle's Nest. German Alps

We spent the day in the German Alps today. We took a train to Berchtesgaden, we then hiked about an hour up to Lake Königssee. We took the Jennerbahn cable car up to the top to see the spectacular view of German and Austrian peaks. Unfortunatly it was vey overcast today and all we could see were clouds.
