Bantayan Island
Bantayan was described to us in Guide books, reviews and word of mouth to be a “paradise island”. And apart from a pretty scary typhoon during the evening of Christmas Day and throughout Boxing Day where had no power or water pressure it has pretty much been a great place for some heavenly relaxation. We stayed for 9 nights on Bantayan. Thankfully we came on the last ferry on the 23rd December after arriving on the port just in time on a hair rai...

Yanghsuo – Hong Kong – Manila – Cebu!!
Jemma here… I’ve got a lot to write about to follow from Taz’s post…. including dancing in Macau, being banned from Facebook for 2 weeks, peeing in public view, mountains of climbing, a climbing legends watering hole, China’s version of “porridge”, being sardined in Hong Kong and feeling really really intimidated in Manila. Oh and getting robbed just one more time… Sorry if this is a bit muddled, loads has happened in a few weeks and ...

Backpacking Baguio May 12-13, 2012
I’ve been to Baguio for many times now, but I’m always with my family. This is the first time to bond with my good friend Gail in out of town. About 12 midnight we took a bus going to Baguio, Mountain Province, which is the Summer Capital of the Philippines. For awhile I thought there is nowhere to find new place there. But I’m wrong. First stop Balacbac, where my relatives are staying. There they welcomed us in their home and made some breakfast...

Bohol Adventure March 13-16, 2009
This is the second time Im going to travel by plane and Im still excited. From Manila its about one hour and a half flight to Tagbilaran, Bohol. In this trip Im with my friend and colleagues. And I also met new friends. Because of our one colleague is from Bohol we did not spend too much on our travel. We stayed in one of the houses of Ms. Susans (colleague) relative. They are very hospitable as usual; we are so welcome in their ho...

Road Trip to Bolinao March 16-18, 2012
Because of stress from work, one of my friends asked me to have a vacation or do some unwinding in Bolinao, Pangasinan, a province in the northern Luzon. And because I love travelling, so I joined the trip. Before taking off to the bus terminal, we had first our dinner. We first went to Moncada, Tarlac. We stayed for a while in our friend’s house. Her family is hospitable, we also had our dinner and breakfast there. In my travels I always loo...

Company Outing in Amana Water Park
Amana Water Park is located in Pandi, Bulacan a theme park with the biggest wave pool in the country with life size statues of movie characters, personalities, and anime/cartoon characters as attractions. Being part of a big company there is a privilege to have an outing for free. This time we went to Amana. I can say that staying here is affordable; entrance fee for Day time is 200 to 250 pesos, Night time is 120 to 180 pesos. For cottages it co...

Donsol and whale sharks
Soon enough I was back at Terminal 3 and on my way to Legazpi. A quick 50 minute flight and another tiny airport with one small carousel. It was pretty obvious who was going to Donsol too as there isn't much reason to come here other than for whale shark watching. So I asked the other 5 white faces on the flight if they wanted to share a minivan. At 1500peso between us for the van it was a good price for the hours journey and a lot less hassle th...
