First Weekend Trip

We had a free weekend. I decided to travel to Nanjing because I haven't been there yet. We bought train tickets Friday night at the Shanghai South Railway Station. That day we went to Xujiahui to attempt to unlock some cell phones from the States. Boy did that take a long time... After that we went to Hua Hai Lu to eat some dan ta and some noodles at...


First Hangover...

Felt pretty rough this morning... so slept in quite late! Went for a walk round Xuanwu Park in the Afternoon, it is bloody huge, lots of water and 5 islands, went to a zoo on one of the islands, which i regretted... it was gruesome... all the animals in such small cages! a poor monkey was not even able to move around... horrible! Most hilarious sight...


Nanjing 1912

Found the Hostel easy, which makes a change, had a couple of hours kip after the train journey and then went for a walk round Nanjing, checked out the Zhonghua Men Gateway, which was well impressive, 27 rooms that could store 3000 men for a suprise ambush! Also saw review on the Nanjing wall, individual writing on every brick... the chinese definately d...


Nanjing (Southern Capital)

After a short, but cramped, four hour train journey from Shanghai we arrived in Nanjing. At various times in Chinese history the capital of China. While here we visited the tomb of Dr Sun Matseo who is considered the father of modern China and helped in the early 1900's to begin the rebellion against the Manchu. This also involved climbing 300+ step...
