Walking on the wild side near Lake Naivasha

With about 5 days left in Jit's visit, we decided to go to Lake Naivasha for some close encounters with African wildlife. We weren't sure what to expect but had heard great reviews so off we went in another matatu. As usual, this one had some interesting decorations on both the outside and inside... including some strange stickers that we weren't quit...

I have to admit, when I arrived in Nairobi in the middle of the night a few days ago, I thought I might have accidentally gotten on the wrong flight and left Africa. 5:00am. Sitting on the entry staircase of my hotel in the pre-dawn darkness. A rickety jitney bus picks me up, along with 7 other Africans for the shuttle to Nairobi airport. For being the primary entry hub into East Africa, the Nairobi airport is a pitiful popsicle stand. There is a mad rush for the passengers of all the morning flights to line up ...
