Egypt Travel Stories
Walk like an Egyptian, Part II
I just loaded the last story...and I can't believe that I forgot one of the most fun things of the day. We went camel riding, today!!! For most, it was a first time experience. For a few of us, we'd done it before. Either way, we ALL had a BALL!!! It is SO much fun to be able to ride a camel with the pyramids in the background!!! We had a nice long ride...which leads to the title of my blog tonight.
What happens when you ride a camel too...
Walk like an Egyptian
Well...finally getting some good info, good pictures, and - some good time to sit down to update all of you what's going on in our journey.
First of all, let me say that your prayers are powerful! Thank you so much for your support...we can feel it! Health, thus far, seems to be good...and traveling has been as safe as traveling in Cairo can be :-) Some of the travelers took a picture of a stoplight in Cairo because they were told that ther...
Hey all! Just wanted to make a really quick log in to tell you all that we made it. Travel was long but uneventful. From the time we left the church to the time we checked into our hotel this afternoon was about 34 hours!!! We are all tired, but very excited to hit the ground running tomorrow. We will do some touring around the city tomorrow...Egyptian Museum, Nile River, Coptic Churches, etc...then to the pyramids on Friday. Can't wait.
First day - big success!

Stores with signage in Arabic and stores with English names. Egyptian food stands and restaurants alongside of KFC and Pizza Hut. I...
Bert goes to Egypt

We are staying in Sharm El Sheikh on the banks of the Red Sea in Egypt. The city was originally a small Bedouin settlement which has been developed into a vast tourist destination with two protected national parks. The waters are clear and home to numerous tropical fish and beautiful coral reefs. T...
Arriving in Cairo for Day 1 of my journey
Arrive in Cairo at 4:30pm, and check into the amazing Mena House Oberoi Hotel, which has all of the accommodations of a 5 star hotel, including a pool, gym and views of the Giza pyramids. We unite for a group logistical orientation (we will announce the exact time), adjusting ourselves to the energy grids of Egypt, and relax. You can get food at the hotel or walk outside. If you chose to take a walk at night time, don’t be alarmed, ladies, if a p...
Day 2 in Cairo
11.09, DAY 2- Today we have two private ceremonies, one in front of the pyramids and the other by the Sphinx, both at sunrise. Then, later that day, we travel to the Step pyramid for another ceremony.
